Summer Vacation Series: Day 3- Garmisch, Germany

Half the day was spent traveling to Garmisch, Germany. Garmisch is a city right next to the Alps. I was in shock when I saw how close our hotel was to the mountains. INSANE!

We checked in and got settled, then we set out on an adventure.
There wasn't much down time during this trip. But no complaints here!

We rode up on a gondola to the highest point in the alps.

On the way up, the views took my breath away. Not many people get to see the world from that high up. It was amazing.

As we got closer to the top, the fog appeared.
This was the view from the front of our gondola. The mountain was literally feet in front of us.

Once we got to the top, we got out of the gondola and went to the view point.
There wasn't much to see since the fog was so heavy.
I wouldn't have believed it was the tippy top of the Alps if it weren't for the drastic temperature change. (4 degrees Celsius= 39 degrees Fahrenheit)
We're grateful to Travis' uncle, Greg, for supplying a pair of pajama pants from his backpack to wrap around Hailey since Travis and I were ill-prepared. Parent fail.
This was what the view was supposed to look like. haha
So after a while, it was time to head back down. Again, I was amazed by the views.

Once we were at the bottom, we walked around for a little while.

After walking around, soaking in the scenary, we decided we were hungry and went to eat dinner. There were some coin-operated cars that Hailey was begging to ride in. So while we waited for our names to be called for dinner, Hailey rode in the cars.

Even though we only spent half that day in Garmisch, it was so much fun. The fog may have blocked the view from the top of the mountain, but it was still a super memorable experience. I still can't believe how beautiful it was in Garmisch.
