St. Patrick's Day Crafting

St. Patrick's Day fell on a Monday this year. On Monday we do our Family Home Evenings. Our church encourages families to have a night set aside for having quality family time. Travis is a good sport and agreed to do a craft for St. Patty's Day. Good man.

I saw some cute shamrocks on Pinterest that I wanted to attempt with Hailey's cute little hands. It looked easy enough.
Cute, right?
Well Hailey was feeling extra wiggly that night. So our shamrock is a little unique.

Then I saw this picture too! Cute. And Travis said he wanted to recreate it.

He looked at it and said, "super easy!" I tried to convince him to look closer at it to make sure he knew exactly how to do it, but he assured me he only needed one glance and he had it.

So here it is... tada!
haha. I love my husband. And I love this leprechaun's ponytail.

I couldn't find any other cute pictures to do, so I just did a simple rainbow. And it's definitely not perfect.
Even though we had a couple pinterest fails, I love Family Home Evening. I love that Travis is willing to do silly things. And I love creating memories with my family.

One Year Stats

Hailey recently went to the doctor for her one year check up. She took the shots like a champ! She cried, of course. But no fever or pain after. What a relief. She weighed 17.1 pounds, that's the 11th percentile folks! My big girl! Her height was 29.1 inches (50th percentile) and her head was also in the 50th percentile.
At the doctor's office, she LOVED playing with her shoes.
She's REALLY enjoying eating real food. Like REALLY enjoying it. She loves to eat what Mom and Dad are eating. She says, "MMmmmmm" after every bite. haha. I'm grateful she's such a good eater.

Not only is she eating well, she's started using a spoon! Still in the learning stages, but she enjoys feeling like a big girl.

Hailey still only says, "mama", "dada", and "baw" (ball). She's CONSTANTLY talking in her own language, so I think she'll explode with words soon.

Hailey is SUCH A FLIRT! Travis and I need to watch out. She turned into this social butterfly that waves, blows kisses, and talks to all the people around her-especially boys. Yesterday, Hailey made an old man's day with all the waving and kisses she blew at him.

She is officially off the bottle and fully on the sippy cup with WHOLE MILK. The transition was easy once we learned she loved drinking from straws.
Hailey is obsessed with her car. She gathers all her favorite toys and throws them in it. Then she gets frustrated as she tries to sit in the car with all her toys. She just wants to share her awesome car with all her favorite things.

She still LOVES books. She sits and flips through the pages reading aloud to herself. It's so cute.
She is constantly dancing. Especially to the songs in Frozen-her favorite movie. I didn't even force that. It just happened, and I'm okay with that. I love that movie.
This is Hailey's interpretive dancing.

Hailey has recently been introduced to playing outside now that the weather is warming up. She can't get enough of it. I have a feeling we'll spend most of our time outside this spring and summer.

Hailey is the HAPPIEST little thing. She's never really upset unless she's hungry or tired. The rest of the day she spends smiling, dancing, singing, reading, and just jibber jabbering away. She has such a sweet spirit. I'm so overwhelmed with love for this girl.

Hailey's First Birthday (Part Two)

CAKE!!
So this is pretty much going to be a picture overload. How could I choose only a couple to share? Sorry if it's crazy, but I do fall under the "obsessive mother" category.

We got Hailey her own little 5 inch smash cake from a local grocery store.

It would be an understatement to say she enjoyed it.

She dug into that thing like it was her last meal.

I wish it was socially acceptable for me to dig into a chocolate cake like that.

And she looks good doing it.

Thanks Brielle and Ashley for the awesome pictures! I'll cherish them forever.
Hailey had a great birthday and I'm so thankful for everyone that was involved. I was SUPER lame and didn't take pictures of Hailey with the people that came. But it was fun and we had a good time.

I can't believe my baby is ONE!

Hailey's First Birthday! (Part One)

Holy Crapola! Our baby turned ONE on March 8th. ONE WHOLE YEAR OLD! Crazy shenanigans. She's getting so big. My mom and sister were in town, so we had a nice little party. Even though it was a small party, Hailey still got presents galore! Grandma can't help but spoil her grand-babies. It's in her nature. Travis and I also got Hailey quite a bit of stuff- all consignment finds by the way. We're cheap-skates like that.
Grandma got Hailey a Cozy Coupe. It was an instant hit. Hailey and her cousin Abbi (6 months older than Hailey) enjoyed taking turns playing in it. Abbi loved pushing Hailey around.
Abbi also liked to keep things fair by letting Hailey know when it was her turn. haha.
They were so fun together. And they both LOVED Baby Jenson.

After we played with the new car, we opened presents.

Hailey got a baby doll.
And an outfit and Doll from Bammy and PopPop.
You can tell when Hailey loves something because she bangs her head into it. If she could talk, I think she'd be saying, "I accept you".
Hailey got some dishes to go with her kitchen we inherited from someone a while ago. She was pretty excited about that.
Hailey also got a mini van toy, a new jacket, and a princess keyboard. After she opened the keyboard she didn't want to open presents anymore. She was ready to jam on her new keyboard.
We were lucky that our friend, Brielle, is a planner. She had her sister bring some Ikea plates, bowls, and cups for Hailey. We LOVE them!
Abbi had a hard time watching Hailey open really fun toys.
Luckily for her, once all the presents were opened, it was time to play.

Next we opened cake. Cake Smash pictures to come on Part Two.
