Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.....

Well a lot has happened since I last wrote on the blog. Travis and I have decided that we're going to stay in Idaho Falls for the summer. We're really sad that we won't be going to Virginia. It was going to be a fun summer. But we decided to stay in Idaho Falls because Travis wants to transfer to Idaho State University. We have to live here for a year, and get car registration and voter registration in order to claim residency. And residency is about $5,000 cheaper... so we want to do that. So we've already put the deposit down on our new apartment and I'm pretty excited. It's probably over twice the size of the apartment we're living in now.. and about $150 cheaper a month. Travis and I plan on working full time over the summer and making some money. Travis already has a full time job offered to him. It's working for some kind of family TV company and he goes to the customers that already are a part of the company. And he talks to the customers to make sure everything is going well and then he lets them know what kind of updates they have now. So he's going to work 8-5 Monday thru Friday, and he gets paid $10 and hour. So that's a good start. We're looking for a job for me. I've applied at a lot of places, but now we're just waiting to hear back from them.

Next week is finals week. I can't believe this semester is almost over! It's really my last regular semester. The next two semesters I'll mostly be in the elementary schools. So that's pretty exciting. Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Maybe I'll write more later. We love you all!

Well... That Didn't Work...

I tried to trick Travis and lock him in the bathroom. But it failed miserably.

Hamburgers

Travis made delicious hamburgers for dinner last night. It was great biting into a big, juicy burger. Cameron was over for dinner, and like always, was great company. We had hamburgers, fries, and baked beans for dinner. It was really yummy. The only thing that would have made it better is watermelon. I have been craving watermelon for about 100 years now. It's sooo delicious. Anyways, dinner was yummy and Travis had a successful first attempt at making hamburgers. Oh, he made them pretty thick, so with all the condiments and stuff on it, the burger ended up being like 6 inches tall. haha. But it was still good.

Travis is a goof.

What have we been up to?

Well, a lot has happened since the last post. One thing that happened is, we quit work! We didn't just quit and walk out. We told our bosses we were quitting on the last day of the pay period. So yesterday was our last day working! And now I'm a free woman. At least I'm free from early morning custodial. I still got to work this summer and probably the fall too. Anyways, so we're pretty excited about being able to return to a normal sleeping schedule.

This last weekend, Travis's old buddy, Steve, came into town to visit his girlfriend (who he plans to propose to soon!). Anyways, so it turns out Travis's friend from work served his mission with Steve. So all three couples went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. When we got there, it was a forty minute wait. So we decided to walk across the parking lot to Sportsman's Warehouse. We had a buzzer from the restaurant and we figured we had plenty of time to kill. So we were wasting time there, when all of a sudden, the buzzer went off! So we ran across the parking lot to Texas Roadhouse. And Sportsman's Warehouse was about 1/4 of a mile away, I'm convinced. Anyways, I was running the fastest (I must have been the hungriest). And Travis says, "Wow Lindsay, that's the fastest I've seen you run in ages!" I turned around quickly and gave him one of those "Oh... you're in trouble!" looks and he just smiled. It was pretty funny. Anyways, so by the time we got there, they had given our table away. But they recovered quickly giving us the next available one. So that was a fun adventure. OH! And this guy walked up to our table and gave us three free appetizer coupons. They expired this week, so he gave them to us. So we ate so much food before our meals even came (Including those divine rolls). Nobody could even finish half their dinner. So after dinner we came to our apartment and played games. It was a fun night. And it was great hanging out with such fun people.

Here's Travis's leftovers. He got pulled pork.

And I got a cute little 6 ounce steak! So perfect.

On Saturday morning, I took a 2 hour state exam. It's called the PRAXIS and it's a test that I have to pass in order to certify as a teacher. It had a lot of essay questions. My hand killed by the end. It was cramping up pretty bad during the test. haha. But that test has been in the back of my mind forever, so I'm so happy it's over. I'll get the results in a few weeks. Hopefully I passed because it cost about $200 to take.

Well I'm headed to get my haircut right now. I'm being kind of dare devilish. Hopefully it turns out okay.

Love you all!

A Little Something on Sunday

Last night I made peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses on top. They turned out pretty good and I was proud of myself.

Today was a good day. We went to church and it was lovely. All the lessons and testimonies were great. We came home and made orange chicken for dinner. I love making that because Travis LOVES it.

Funniest Card Ever

Here's the card my parents sent Travis for his birthday. It is probably the funniest card I have ever seen. For those of you who don't know, urology is the study of urine. The inside says 'On your birthday, just relax and go with the flow.'

Birthday Boy

Tuesday was Travis's 23rd birthday. I went to bed on Monday night all excited for the next day to be his birthday. But then I woke up at 3 am for work, got ready, and went to work. We separated to go to our buildings and started to work. At 6:30 I realized I hadn't said happy birthday to him that morning. And I felt horrible. I let everyone I worked with know how upset I was that I had forgotten to tell him happy birthday. haha. And at 7, when work was over, I went over to his building and told everyone there that it was his birthday. Luckily, Travis forgot it was his birthday too until his dad called him. I guess 3 am is just too early to think coherently.

Anyways, I am so grateful to have Travis in my life. He's my best friend and he truly loves me so much. I never thought anyone could love me as much as he does. One year ago, on his birthday in 2010, we went to his apartment for his surprise birthday party. Travis and I had only gone on one date the week before. So we were only interested in each other at this point. Anyways, all these people started arriving to Travis's apartment to surprise him. And there ended up being about 15 or so girls there to surprise him. He didn't even have any guy friends show up! So I felt dumb. I don't know why, but I did.

So he came, was surprised and the girls surrounded him for the rest of the night. Luckily I was patient and waited for them all to leave. And we got to spend some time together. And since then, we were inseparable and now we're married. So haha to all those girls that showed up to his party. Cause he's mine now. =) And I love him so much and am so grateful for him.

This is us a year ago on Travis's birthday. Our love was young.
